Delivery Driver (Chicago Land Area)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and professional Delivery Driver to transport products and deliver them around the Chicago Land area. This role requires driving, customer interaction, and cash handling, ensuring products are delivered promptly and safely to clients. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, excellent driving skills, and an eye for detail when it comes to customer service and vehicle maintenance.

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Driving delivery truck and adhering to traffic laws, DOT regulations, and safety practices. 

  • Communicating effectively with dispatchers, drivers, and team members to ensure timely deliveries. 

  • Meeting delivery deadlines and strictly following assigned routes. 

  • Performing basic truck maintenance including refueling, conducting visual inspections, and reporting any issues. 

  • Preparing, loading, and unloading the delivery vehicle. 

  • Providing exceptional customer service, collecting payments, and obtaining customer signatures when required. 

  • Completing necessary paperwork related to deliveries and ensuring all required reports are submitted. 

  • Utilizing equipment such as electric hand jacks, hand trucks, and dollies to assist in deliveries. 

Equipment/Tools Assigned: 

  • Electric Power Jack 

  • Dolly 

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Valid CDL license (at least 3 years of driving experience). 

  • Clean driving abstract and safety record for the past 3 years. 

  • Ability to handle physical tasks such as lifting, loading, and unloading. 

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to providing top-tier customer service. 

  • Time Management: Ability to manage delivery schedule and meet deadlines. 

  • Communication: Strong verbal communication skills for effective interaction with customers and dispatchers. 

  • Technical Skills: Proficient in operating GPS systems and mobile devices for tracking and communication. 

  • Duties: Handling order pickups, route planning, timely delivery, and maintaining an organized schedule. 

  • Vehicle Inspection: Routine checks of the delivery vehicle to ensure safety and efficiency.
